GTM Engineer - CX
About the Role
Join Clay as a GTM Engineer and help shape the future of B2B SaaS growth. If you thrive at the intersection of automation, customer experience, and technical innovation, this is your chance to drive impact at a company redefining how organizations reach their best-fit customers.
❖ About Clay
Clay empowers organizations to turn creative growth ideas into reality. We believe growth is a creative practice, not a formula. Our platform leverages unique data, signals, and AI research to help thousands of customers—including Anthropic, Notion, Google, and Ramp—go to market smarter and faster. Backed by Sequoia, CapitalG, and First Round, we recently raised a $100M Series C and reached a $5B valuation, with a vibrant community of 11,000+ customers and 30,000+ Slack members.
❖ The Opportunity: GTM Engineer, B2B SaaS
As a GTM Engineer, you’ll own and build post-sale workflow automations that prevent churn and identify expansion opportunities. You’ll collaborate closely with Growth Strategy, Product Support, and the broader CX organization to turn customer data into proactive, measurable action. This role is ideal for builders with deep RevOps, GTM Engineering, or Sales Ops experience who understand how GSMs, CSMs, and support teams operate—and what data they need to succeed.
❖ What You’ll Do
- Design and implement post-sale automations: health scoring, churn signal detection, expansion opportunity identification, and proactive outreach triggers
- Partner with Growth Strategy and Product Support to translate business needs into automation requirements, iterating based on feedback
- Build tools that surface the right customer context for GSMs at key moments—before QBRs, during renewals, and ahead of expansion conversations
- Extend Clay’s platform into new use cases, contribute innovative ideas to the product team, and act as a practitioner evangelist for GTM Engineering
- Collaborate with GTM leaders and frontline teams to understand and improve revenue workflows
- Own projects end-to-end, from discovery and prototyping through rollout, adoption, and iteration
- Connect systems through APIs, webhooks, integrations, and automation layers to ensure seamless data flow
- Measure and improve the performance, adoption, and business impact of your solutions
- Serve as an internal thought partner on the future of AI-native GTM systems
❖ What You’ll Bring
- 6-10 years in RevOps, GTM Engineering, or similar technical roles, with at least 3 years in RevOps/Sales Ops or GTM Engineering
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce and adjacent GTM systems; familiarity with CS tools like Gainsight, Vitally, or ChurnZero
- Strong technical skills in Python, JavaScript, SQL, or TypeScript; ability to pull and analyze your own data
- Proven track record building AI-powered internal tools, automations, or agentic workflows
- Experience with data warehouses, BI tools, or event-driven systems
- Executive presence and the ability to communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous, hypergrowth environments
- Experience building in Clay as a workflow or enrichment layer is highly preferred; candidates without Clay experience should demonstrate rapid learning
- Bonus: background in analytics engineering, data science, or programming languages
